I sent a masspayment 2 days ago for services but I got one of my Indian members payments returned - I will resend it to him now.
Hopefully it wont last long - just wanted to give a heads up. Here is what I was sent from Paypal:

Dear Peta Connolly,

Your payment of $1.06 has been returned to you.  If you sent the payment with a bank account, the funds will be returned to your PayPal balance.  If you paid with a credit card, the amount will be credited back to your card.

We returned the payment to you because we have stopped allowing personal payments to be sent to or from India.

If this was a payment for a purchase of goods or services, and not a personal payment, then you may resend the payment to the seller by following these steps on the PayPal website: (a) click the Send Money tab, (b) select “Goods,” and (c) provide a shipping address.

If this payment was a personal payment, such as a gift to a friend or family member, then we request that you find another payment method until we restore personal payments to and from India.

We are trying to resolve this issue as quickly as possible and we’re sorry for any inconvenience.

Thank you,

PayPal

Seems so, I had a customer say the same to me. Guess too many Indians were using it for business.

I got the same thing..  The problem is, I never got the money back into my account.. It's been 20 minutes since I got it. But I don't know what member it was taken away from..

Not sure - I just resent the payment they returned using masspay again and have not received email for that payment as of yet. They could have made an error and refunded all transactions to and from India instead of just the ones sent using personal option. Will have to wait and see.

I know one thing I rarely retry payments once fail as matter fact I only done it once and that was only because they got so annoying.  I did get joy making them wait the 30 days for paypal to return money before redid it maybe they use proper email from now on.  To bad now they have where can cancel unclaimed payments so I would of had to repay this person faster if they do it again.  There been months where I make tens of thousands of payments not going to spend time redoing them.  Know I used to spend 25%-50% of my day paying people.  And this is with someone else helping gather the mass pay files if did it all I spend 100% of my day doing it.

Also remember joys of the mass pay files being so long I have to divide it into 20 files just so it would not take hours for the thing to read then get error in someone not filling info right and have to redo it.

And people wounder why as site gets bigger it takes longer to be paid.  Well when it takes days to pay the members monthly after spending weeks organizing the files that's why.

I think it's just payments to and from India, I am not sure about bank accounts that should be fine.
